The most anticipated DCEU movie, The Batman is finally out. The latest reboot of Batman directed by Matt Reeves features Rob Pattinson taking on the mantle of the caped crusader. Through the years we’ve seen many iterations of Batman, the most notable one being Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy has already raised the bar very high and so decades later it will be quite challenging to appease the fans of Nolanverse Batman. So it will be quite intriguing to witness Matt Reeves’s Batman going head to head with its predecessor, which was nothing less than a masterpiece.
Reeves and his co-writers Mattson Tomlin and Peter Craig have beautifully presented a dark, gritty detective drama that provides an intricate look into Bruce Wayne rather than his superhero persona. This feels refreshing after all the fan-service that most superhero movies have been doing these days, however The Batman is a treat for comic purists as we see Batman be true to his nickname of The World’s Greatest Detective, which the others movies seemed to have forgotten about.

Pattinson’s batman relies heavily on his crime solving skills while utilizing his arsenal of high-tech gadgets throughout the film, not as much as we’ve seen before and this is what makes the movie so good and makes the batman reboot more appealing. The movie does have an advanced Batsuit and features the best Batmobile we’ve seen in a live action adaptation of the comics.
The Batman Plot
Batman has to stop the mysterious Riddler, played by the brilliant Paul Dano, who leaves cryptic riddles as he puts his victims to death. To put an end to Riddler’s atrocities Batman teams up with his trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth and Lieutenant James Gordon, played by Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright respectively, who do a stellar job in fulfilling their roles.

Cast Of The Batman
Rob Pattinson is spectacular in his role as Batman, but that was severely undermined by the actor presenting to us the best Bruce Wayne we’ve ever seen. Pattinson is compelling as he explores every trait of Bruce Wayne’s dark personality with such great depth. His emotions portray the effect of donning the cape has on Bruce’s mental health.
With the suit on, Pattinson is just graceful as he executes his vengeance. The stark contrast that Pattinson is able to bring out when he is Batman and when he is Bruce Wayne with his performance is simply amazing. Pattinson has swept us off our feet and he might as well be the best live action Batman.

Zoe Kravitz puts up a breathtaking performance as Selina Kyle or Catwoman, stealing the show every time she’s on the screen. Kravitz brings out the best of her character, giving the Catwoman a seductive vibe. The chemistry between Kravitz and Pattinson is electrifying.
Paul Dano as the mysterious Riddler has to be one of the perfect casting decisions that has ever been made. Dano brings out the maniacal aspect of the Riddler brilliantly. While he does have a reduced screen-time owing to him being mysterious with his crimes, Dano does so well in playing the super villain.
Colin Farrell, underneath all that prosthetic plays The Penguin and his performance is phenomenal. Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright who play Batman’s trusted allies Alfred Pennyworth and Lt. James Gordon have done a remarkable job as well.

Running Time Of The Batman
The Batman is going to have a whooping runtime of 175 minutes which is 2 hours and 55 minutes. We can consider it to be a 3 hour long movie, which is quite a long-running time. So, we can expect to see the reveal of a lot of characters and unveiling of many of the storylines from the comic book. The Batman will surely be an exhilarating ride for every fan of this series and vigilante.
The action and drama packed 3 hours is something to obviously look forward to! But can fans also expect dragged storylines? As per the reviews so far, both critics and audiences have applauded the director for effectively using the running time to explore the Batman Universe and it has surely met everyone’s high expectations.
MCU’s Avengers: Endgame is 6 minutes longer than this Batman flick. Although this is going to be the longest Batman movie so far in the DC Cinematic Universe. DC fans will obviously say quality over quantity to this argument, but the runtime debate surely will spark fire to the rivalry between DC and Marvel fans.
