Raj Kaushal dies at 49
We were all taken aback by the news of Raj Kaushal‘s untimely death this morning. The filmmaker died of a heart attack at the age of 49. His death also reminded us of how unexpected life can be. He is best known as Mandira Bedi’s husband, although he is also a filmmaker. He has four films to his credit as a director, three of which he produced himself. He also appeared uncredited in a Shah Rukh Khan film. Let us tell you a little bit more about the spouse you already knew but the filmmaker you didn’t. Raj Kaushal, Mandira Bedi’s husband, died of a heart attack at the age of 49.
Raj Kaushal directed four films. His debut film was the teenybopper Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi, which had the entire country gushing over its new music. It was a love triangle set in a college, starring newcomers like Dino Morea, Rinki Khanna, and Sanjay Suri. Kaushal also served as the film’s producer

He then went on to direct Shaadi Ka Ladoo. The film starred Sanjay Suri again, as well as his wife Mandira Bedi. It was also produced by him and was released in 2004. Anthony Kaun Hai, starring Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, was released in 2006. It’s a thriller with suspense.
Notable Achievments
But what may be viewed as Kaushal’s courageous and gutsy gesture is his support for My Brother Nikhil. The film’s premise is homosexual, which was unheard of until 2005. This Onir-directed film is still regarded as one of the best in the category. It starred Sanjay Suri and Juhi Chawla, two of his favourite actors. To make a film like that at a period when India was hostile to the very concept of homosexuality, one must be visionary.

However, before all of that, Kaushal played Shah Rukh Khan’s companion in Trimurti, a 1995 film. In one scene, he could be seen summoning Himani Shivpuri to play Romi. It’s worth noting that his wife Mandira made her Bollywood debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
“Gone far too soon. This morning, we lost Filmmaker and Producer @rajkaushal1. It’s very sad. He was a producer on my first film, #MyBrotherNikhil. One of the few who believed in and supported our vision. Onir said, “Prayers for his soul.”
